EPICBLU

Privacy Policy – TotalUp

Effective date: 3 November 2026

TotalUp is a daily numbers game from EpicBlu. This policy explains how information is used when you play on iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV. It covers the app; Apple’s services have their own privacy terms.

1. Who is responsible and how to contact us

EpicBlu is responsible for the information it handles for TotalUp. For privacy questions, support or requests about your information, email support@epicblu.co.uk or use our contact page.

2. Information saved on your device

TotalUp saves puzzle moves, unfinished games, start times, results, personal bests, clues and practice status, completion badges and preferences on your device. This lets you resume a game and see your progress. The app does not require a separate TotalUp account.

3. Private iCloud progress

When iCloud is available, TotalUp uses Apple’s CloudKit service to sync puzzle progress and history between your devices through your private iCloud database. Synced information includes the board, moves, timing, completion and practice status, personal bests and badges. The app uses an iCloud account identifier to keep account-specific progress separate. This information is used for saving and merging your progress, not for advertising.

Your private puzzle history is separate from Game Center rankings. TotalUp does not publish it as a public CloudKit database or upload it to an EpicBlu gameplay server. Sync needs an internet connection and available iCloud storage. If iCloud is unavailable, the app keeps local progress. Apple operates iCloud under its own terms and privacy policy.

4. Game Center and public rankings

If you sign in to Game Center, TotalUp submits eligible daily solve times and your cumulative unassisted daily solve count to Apple’s leaderboards. The app accesses player identifiers, display names and leaderboard results to provide rankings. Your Game Center name and scores can be visible to other players; Apple may also display your profile image. Archive practice does not enter daily competitive totals.

You can play without Game Center and manage your Game Center account and privacy options in your device settings. Signing out or deleting TotalUp does not automatically erase scores already submitted to Apple. See Apple’s Game Center privacy information.

5. Purchases

Apple processes payments for the optional one-time TotalUp Plus archive unlock. TotalUp uses Apple-provided product and verified transaction information, including purchase identifiers and entitlement status, to check access, restore purchases and handle changes such as refunds or revocations. EpicBlu does not receive your payment-card details. Purchase ownership uses your App Store account, independently of iCloud progress and Game Center rankings. Apple retains its own transaction records.

6. Optional reminders and permissions

On iPhone, iPad and Mac, you can choose a daily puzzle reminder and grant notification permission. Reminders are scheduled locally on that device; TotalUp does not register for server-sent push notifications. This setting starts off, is stored per device and can be turned off in TotalUp or your system notification settings. Apple TV does not offer reminders. TotalUp does not request access to your contacts, location, camera or microphone for gameplay.

7. Advertising, analytics and support

TotalUp contains no adverts, third-party analytics SDKs or tracking tools. EpicBlu does not sell your gameplay information or use it for targeted advertising. Apple may process service usage, diagnostic and account information under its own settings and policies; the absence of analytics in the app does not mean Apple’s services collect no information.

If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use this to answer and resolve your request. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary personal information.

8. Why information is used and who receives it

We use information only to provide saved games, sync, rankings, purchase access, optional reminders and support. Where data protection law requires a legal basis, providing requested app features and verifying paid access supports performance of the service; responding to support and maintaining the app supports our legitimate interests. Optional device features remain under your control, including any permission required by your device.

Apple processes information for iCloud, Game Center and App Store purchases. Support messages are handled through the services used to receive and answer them. Information may also be disclosed where required by law. Apple and service providers may process information outside your country under their applicable data protection arrangements. See Apple’s privacy policy for Apple’s handling of its services.

9. Retention and deletion

Local progress remains on your device until app data is removed. Deleting the app and its data normally removes its local store; simply offloading the app may keep it. Device backups or other devices may retain copies.

Private iCloud progress can remain after uninstalling the app. Manage or remove TotalUp’s stored iCloud data through your Apple account’s iCloud storage settings where available. To avoid restoring or uploading another copy, consider local data and sync on all devices using the same account. Removing progress does not remove an App Store purchase or previously submitted Game Center scores; those are managed separately through Apple.

We retain support correspondence while needed to answer your request and for any necessary follow-up or legal obligations, then delete it when it is no longer needed. We do not operate a central EpicBlu database of your private puzzle history and cannot erase Apple-managed records merely by deleting a support email.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or receive a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Contact us at the address above for information EpicBlu handles. Apple account, iCloud, Game Center and transaction requests may need to be made to Apple. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

11. Children and policy updates

TotalUp does not ask players to provide a name, email address or date of birth to play. Parents and carers can use Apple’s family, purchase, notification and Game Center controls to manage a child’s access. Public rankings and optional Apple services still involve the information described above.

We will update this page if TotalUp’s information use changes and revise the effective date. For questions, contact support@epicblu.co.uk.
